WBPA Monthly Meeting [02/18/21]
February 18 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am
Minutes from February 18, 2021: Alan Rugh called the meeting to order
Members present: Alan Rugh, Bob Sussman, David Hawkins, Shannon Humphreys, Eli Souders, Robin Bowers, Dale Clabaugh, Katie Hanna, Lee Anne Little.
The following topics were discussed:
Promotional/Welcome Bags: Alan stated that we will plan on distributing welcome bags quarterly. Please get the next round of promotional items (50 count) dropped off to A’Bloom in April.
Website profiles for WBPA: reminder to get them up. Contact Alan if you need assistance.
Library Update: Robin spoke about a community partner survey which would focus on three questions:
What are 2 of the most important issues/concerns for you, or client/customer, related to COVID and the shutdown from the pandemic?
What do you think (as a community) is keeping us from making progress and staying in a holding pattern? (unknown? Shortage of vaccines?)
Is there anything we should know about? How people are faring, or how we can help you?
Curbside Delivery: Robin stated that the library drive-through/curbside has been operating since last June and continues to operate Monday – Saturday, 10a – 5p and has roughly 100-150 cars per day! There is also a wealth of information on their FB page, as well as their You Tube channel. Robin will be sending those links to Alan for distribution.
Easter Program: Robin stated that since we can’t assemble in person, the egg hunt will be advertised through social media (Instagram & Twitter). Eggs will be hidden and clues for finding them will be pushed out through social media the week of Easter. Found eggs can be brought to the library drive-through to redeem for prizes.
Farmer’s Market: Robin stated the Farmer’s Market will set up on Saturday mornings in tents in the green space at the library and will operate from mid-April through May.
FOWL (Friends of the Walkersville Library): Robin noted that this group will be starting up again. She will advise when that starts.
Summer Lunch Program: Robin said they are always open to support for the summer lunch program. Dave Hawkins asked for a wish list from Robin for the library.
Before adjourning the meeting, congratulations were given to Alan Rugh and his wife on the birth of their son, Jamison Rugh, born February 14, 2021!
Meeting was adjourned. Next meeting will be a virtual meeting on March 18, 2021 at 8 am. Alan will send out a link via email.
Respectfully submitted: Lee Anne Little, Secretary
