The April 2019 meeting for the WBPA will be held on Thursday, the 18th, in the main meeting room at the Walkersville Library. The meeting will be from 8am-9am.  All current members are urged to attend; however, attendance is not required. All minutes from the meeting will be posted to the event page after the event is complete, for any non-attending member.

Minutes from April 18, 2019:

1. Members present/introductions: Alan Rugh, Consie Myers, Amy Brandt, Yvonne Reeder, Mary Bolton, Leslie Baker, Barbara Garst, David Hawkins, Debbie Wallace, Mimi McLaughlin, Laura Beall, Lee Anne Little

2. Welcome to new member, Joanna Price, Woofing It

3. Alan Rugh spoke on the following topics:
– Social Media Push: Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/LinkedIn
– Weekly feature
– Need member profiles
– Get followers for WBPA page and personal pages
– Website built for Walkersville Days (May 18, 2019)
– Sat. 4/20/19 Easter Egg Hunt @ Walkersville Library, 10 am
– Suggested WBPA host a networking event

*Olde Towne Restaurant to host
*Amy and Barbara and Laura to chair/coordinate
*June was proposed to be the possible first date for this event
*Solicit donations for prize

– “Member of the Month” feature starting in June
*Compose a template for members to complete. Completed forms can be delivered or emailed to Lee Anne. Goal is to eventually create a brochure or pamphlet for WBPA

4. Amy spoke about the 5K Run @ Heritage Park on Sunday, 5/19/19, to benefit Friends of the Walkersville Library, Registration at Active.com and fee is $25. Debbie stated there is a need for corporate sponsors for this event

5. Barbara announced a Shred Day/food bank event on 4/20/19 from 9-12 at Thurmont Police Station

6. Yvonne stated WBPA now has a Square account for processing payments/dues. Email to be sent for billing dues prior to July 1

7. Dave suggested a WBPA members and families picnic event to be held in September

8. Yvonne suggested updating and ordering new general business cards for WBPA. Alan agreed to do a mockup and bring to the May meeting
